Job Description

Our client is a leading financial services group currently going through a major growth phase both through organic and acquisitive growth. They are an employer of choice with a progressive culture, superb work life balance and flexibility and a dynamic finance team.

Due to a major transformation and integration project they have a newly created opportunity for a qualified financial accountant / senior financial accountant to join the financial control team in a project focused role.  Reporting into the Senior Manager, Finance Change & integration you will focus on the following:

  • Analysis of current finance processes and controls
  • Re-design of future finance processes & controls taking into account target state applications and future operating model of the team
  • Execution of changes from current state to future state
  • Assist in the transition onto new GL
  • Assist in implementation of new reconciliation tool
  • Re-design of financial reporting
  • Simplification and automation of processes
  • Analysis of current finance processes and controls

This will initially be a 2 year contract role but the company is growing significantly and there is a high likelihood of this rolling into further projects or becoming permanent in the new finance structure at that point.

Required skills and experience:

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Would consider either a financial accountant from a large complex financial services/insurance group or a candidate from Big 4 / top 10 background (from senior accountant up to manager level) 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of finance processes, GL, and financial / statutory reporting process
  • Track record in process improvement, streamlining and automation
  • Insurance industry experience would be advantageous
