The Senior Data Engineer plays a critical role in designing and implementing the management, monitoring, security, and privacy of data using the full stack of data services for the organisation.  Taking responsibility for design, development, oversight and direction setting for the Azure environment and Data analytics platforms specially in Master data management activities (Batch integration, data rules, matching and surviving strategies). The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, highly detail-oriented team-player with a positive drive to strategize and implement BI solutions that enable the business to derive valuable insights. You will join a tight knit group of key contributors who are actively working together to achieve aggressive goals and meet timelines to drive the business forward.
 
Key accountabilities include:
  1. Understand the Business Context and Requirements
  2. Collaborate with other team members to achieve business objectives.
  3. Conduct feasibility analysis by verifying requirements, ingesting and profiling data.
  4. Complete design, data models, loading approaches and source to target mapping documents.
  5. Develop ELT for Azure Synapse Analytics (using Azure Data Factory/Synapse Pipelines, Spark Notebooks, SSIS, PolyBase, Stream Analytics)
  6. Create and manage entities, business rules and strategies in master data management.
  7. Develop, manage and deploy SQL, PowerShell, C# and Python source code using Azure DevOps
  8. Interpret trends and patterns, prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling.
  9. Develop ADF/Synapse Pipelines, Spark notebooks, cubes and Reports in Microsoft BI tools including Power BI and Azure Analysis Services
  10. Develop and conduct unit testing.
  11. Conduct initial Root Cause Analysis and defect triage.
Requirements:
  1. >5 years’ experience working in technical Analytics or Business Intelligence environments.
  2. >5 years’ experience working with Microsoft SQL databases and Azure Synapse Analytics
  3. Working experience in creating entities, writing data rues, strategies for matching and survivorship, access provisioning in Master data management tools (preferably MDS).
  4. Working experience in Azure Data Factory/Synapse Pipelines, Spark Notebooks, Stream Analytics
  5. Comprehensive SQL, PowerBI and DAX knowledge and experience
  6. Working knowledge of Python or C#
  7. Experience in working with large, complex Data Warehouses using the Microsoft BI Stack within an Azure or cloud-based environment.
