The Role
We are partnering with a medical device firm that is seeking an APAC Trade Compliance Officer to support and enhance its regional trade compliance framework.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trade compliance professional to take ownership of compliance activities across the APAC region. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure adherence to customs, export control and trade regulations while driving compliance best practices across the business.
 
Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain the regional trade compliance programme in line with global policies and regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance on export controls, customs regulations, tariff classification, country of origin and sanctions screening matters
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations
  • Conduct compliance reviews and support internal, external and regulatory audits
  • Develop and maintain compliance procedures, controls and documentation
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Legal and business stakeholders on trade compliance initiatives
 
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs, export controls or international logistics
  • Strong knowledge of export controls, customs regulations, sanctions screening and tariff classification
  • Experience supporting regional trade compliance programmes within a multinational environment
  • Familiarity with customs valuation, country of origin requirements and cross-border trade regulations
  • Experience with Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) and dual-use goods compliance would be advantageous
  • Mandarin language proficiency would be advantageous to support communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders in relevant APAC markets
  • Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across regional markets
